Default ASKING FOR HELP FOR OUR DIESEL- PARALYZED BOY

Diesel was taken in by our pound after a desperate plea on FB by a lady who was a victim of domestic violence and had moved out of her home but couldnt take Diesel with her. A very kind supporter paid for 6 months boarding fees to give owner chance to find a new place. Sadly- as Diesels boarding time has finished his owner has decided to change her number and we have had no contact from her.

We were just looking to rehome him but sadly last week whilst running for a ball he suffered a catastrophic injury which has left our boy paralyzed and he was in appalling pain. He has we believe suffered a spontaneous cartilagenous embolism close to his spinal cord( basically a blood clot/ fluid filled clot ) . Luckily his bowels , bladder and stomach are still working but he is struggling to walk.

We were told originally by vet either poss ct scan at around 1500 pounds plus maybe operation or to put him to sleep. We cannot give up on him.

Please if you can - send a donation to help our boy get better.

Paypal is norfolkstraydogs@gmail.com

He is currently the second Staffy under our care who is partially paralyzed.

Thank you- anything you can donate will be greatfully received as we also have to pay almost 230 per month to keep him in kennels.

Default Domestic abuse dog

Please contact the Dogs Trust. They have a scheme of fostering dogs for owners escaping domestic abuse. You might get some financial help.

Why do you / vet think this is his problem?

An embolism can often start to resolve itself within a couple of days. Other problems eg slipped disc would really need surgical attention within a couple of days to give the best chance of recovering even if operated on.

See if there's anything new / of help here

The vet is very experienced Ian- so we must listen to what he thinks and the best treatment options. He is slowly getting tiny indications he is getting back some feeling- he was able to wag his tail a little and if you place his paws in a certain position he can weight bear for a few seconds but its a long road ahead.

No we havent got it set up like that. Only other way you could do it would be for you to make a transfer to me- bank Transfer and then I can forward it to our Norfolk Strays Paypal address if you are happy to do it that way. Let me know and I will give you my bank details Thank you Julie. xx
