labradorwelfare is on a distinguished road
Default Labrador Welfare

Name Of Rescue: Labrador Welfare

Website and/or contact details of rescue:

Where rescue is based (Town, County): Sheffield

Where rescue rehome to: Yorkshire, North East, North Derbyshire, North Notts, North LIncs and parts of Chashire

Type of animal(s) Rescue deals with: Dogs

Is Rescue breed specific? Please explain either way: Labrador Retrievers

Do you neuter all animals before leaving for forever homes where applicable? Please explain either way: No as we use boarding kennels and prefer neutering dogs when in a home environment. However it is part of our adoption contract that all dogs be neutered if not already done so - this is followed up.

Do you always home check?: Yes

If applicable do you always vaccinate?: Yes

If applicable do you always worm/flea treat?: Yes

If applicable do you microchip?: Yes

Do you provide insurance when rehoming to new owners?: no

Will you always take the animal back no matter what? If not please explain under what circumstances etc: yes

Rough 'donation' guide per animal, please also explain what this involves:
Top donation asked is £230 for a neutered bitch down to £120 for an older dog.
Why do we ask for a donation?
• A dog that is free to a good home is of no value – our Labrador’s are priceless.
• As a deterrent to impulse buying
• As a deterrent to those who may be trying to acquire a dog for dubious purposes.
• To encourage commitment to the dog and to dealing with any baggage they may come with
• To help cover the cost of kennelling the dog
• To cover of the cost of worming , flea treatment and vaccinations if not already done
• To cover the cost of micro chipping and Premium registration of your dog in your name and with Labrador Welfare remaining as the Rescue organisation. NB Your details can be updated at any time at no further cost.
• We charge slightly more for neutered dogs as this is an actual saving to you of between £100 and £200 depending on the vet used.
• If your dog is unneutered we will give you £50 towards the cost of the operation on production of a receipt from your vet.

Can RHU staff/volunteers contact you about animals needing rescue backup that have been posted in our 'backup needed' section?: Yes
